My grandfather made it to the local hospital in his area. I can’t get through on the lines, but I’m told he’s in the safest place he can be right now.
Let’s hope that the small subdivision survived without too much flooding or damage.

There is hope. At least the storm lost strength quickly upon landfall. I was fearing that New Orleans was gonna be levelled, but I saw a reporter today broadcasting from the corner of Bourbon and Desire. It seemed banged up, but OK. Some places near the lake were not as fortunate.
Still, the mind boggles at the total overall damage.
Glad he’s okay. =)
